Rustic Rose

SCROLL DOWN TO THE END OF THE POST FOR THE FREEBIE

DSC03152

Hey everyone!

I made another card based on the colour story at Play Date Cafe. I had something else in my mind but I still am not well enough to sit for longer periods and this was all I could make.

DSC03144

The flourish is a Silhouette cut (available at the Silhouette store) and so are the butterflies (freebie). The rose is handmade. I added a few metallic rhinestones as fillers and included a border of faux stitching to balance the look.

Hope you like it. Like I said earlier, I will visit your blogs and comment very soon.

Gingerloft Challenge - Sketch

DSC03140

Hello bloggers!

I have been suffering from an ear infection and hence vertigo so this is going to be short,  This week at Gingerloft we have a sketch for you. Come play with us!

Here’s my card:

DSC03139

The sentiment is a freebie at Gingerloft, you can find it at the Gingerloft Store under the freebies section. My card is based on the colour story at Play Date Cafe this week. It took me all the time in the world to apply those nasty lil pearls because my head kept dropping sideways! LOL So I did most of this with my head resting on the table.

That’s it for now. I am feeling a bit better than before so I am sure I will be back soon with another card. Till then, happy crafting people!

xoxo

Erum

PS: I’ll visit your blogs soon. I just cant use the laptop for a long period right now.

Challenges: PDCC, Truly Scrumptious, Amber’s Crafts and stuff, Crafts and Me, Aud’s Sentiments challenge, Little miss muffet, Paper crafting journeya gem of a challenge, Sugar creek hollow,

Dear Mum…

SCROLL TO THE END OF THE POST FOR THE FREEBIE

DSC03125

Hello bloggers!

Why is it every time I make a beautiful card it never comes out good in photos and when I make a mediocre card, it comes out just the way it looks IRL?!!

I made this card yesterday based on the colour story at Playdate Cafe. My laziness went right out of the window when I saw their colour palette! I had to make something beautiful. I want that CUP! lol

Talking about the cup, CONGRATULATIONS to all Indians for winning the World Cup! I cant truly explain how delighted I was to see Suchin Tedulkar holding the cup finally! I adore the guy!

DSC03118

The pattern paper is computer generated. The flower is handmade. The doily and butterflies are Silhouette cut. The silver borders look grey in the picture but that is silver border lining on the pattern paper, white card base and the outer edge of the doily. I added hand stitching along the PP border as well.

There are lots of pearls on this one eh? It doesn't show in the photos but the doily, butterflies and some petals of the flower are quite shimmery as I painted these with white pearl paint. Added a bit of silver net and light blue pearly “filaments” behind the flower to fill in the space and balance the card.

This card is BEAUTIFUL in person. One of my favs! This one is for my mother. She is a super mom! Apparently my mother liked this card too, she and my dad are the critics and they tell me whats lacking in my cards. But this one, she LOVED.

Check out the list of challenges I will be entering this card to. I hope I win at least one! LOL

Hugs,

Erum

GL 15 – Got the Blues

DSC03102

Hello bloggers!

I have been feeling way too lazy to make anything. I have loads of ideas but I just cant shape them in a card/project. I made this card for the Gingerloft Challenge this week. The theme at Gingerloft Challenges is “Got the blues”. So take out your blue thingies and start creating.

DSC03096

For my card I have used the Hot Air Balloon Digi Set from Gingerloft store. I sprayed the biggest balloon with lacquer to make it glossy (doesn’t show in the picture, maybe a little bit on the top right). I have coloured the image with water colour pencils in various shades of blue. Used Silhouette to cut the clouds. The sheer thingy you see below the royal blue layer is Turquoise organza ribbon.

This is it for now… I think I will take a few more days off. With the changing weather from bad to worst heat and dry wave, I am having mood swings. In Karachi we don't get to see “Spring”, we just land directly into Summers. Blecchh! Or maybe this is “OUR” spring. Whenever I see the challenges with themes “Spring is in the air, happy spring” etc etc I just feel like making a huge, fat Sun and placing it as a card’s focal point! Ok cue mood swing. Better go.

hugs

Erum.

P.S: Oooh “Male” card! + This is the first time I have used hot air balloons, always wanted to but never got around making something.

Challenges: Moxie Fab, The sisterhood of crafters, Stamp something, Totally Papercrafts, Digis with attitude
